There was one darling little girl, much younger than the rest of us, who was sweet, demure, and quiet, with beautiful long hair like Alice in Wonderland. On dark and cold autumn nights I enjoy nothing more than a warming liqueur and Homemade Creme De Mure is even more satisfying knowing I made it. The blackberries are harvested from Morocco and Chile and combining them with cream creates a deliciously tart liqueur.

It’s most well-known for its inclusion in the Bramble cocktail paired with gin and lemon, invented in the 1980’s in London. If you like to experiment with different cocktails Creme de Mure should definitely be a part of your home bar.

These days they are a global brand producing many different liqueurs, syrups and other spirits which are to be found in some of the world's best hotels and bars. It’s a wonderful flavour which brings together the essence of the blackberry and primes it perfectly to match with fine champagnes, dry white wines and any number of white spirit cocktails which need an extra kick. Bold berries, zingy lime, and spicy ginger complement the bite of the tequila in a way that’s indescribable.This is made by naturally macerating the fruits in alcohol, before sweetening with sugar, then bottling. It was invented in 1984 by a British bartender named Dick Bradsell, who worked at Fred’s Club in London, to honor his memories of blackberry picking as a child.

Created by Maison Brillet, whose origin in the Charente region dates back to 17th century, Belle de Brillet is a French Pear and Cognac liqueur, using the equivalent of 18 pears per bottle.Creme de mure is powerful and layered: fruity, rich, bold, sweet, bright, and jammy all at once, with a sweet tart finish.
