About this deal

The art heist story line could probably have been left aside in favor of more time with Marine and Marco, but overall this was an enjoyable read about becoming who you want to be and laying aside insecurities and the expectations of others so you can reach for your own happiness. Grown Ups is a fascinating book, I always love a story centred around family dynamics and I think Grown Ups managed this really well. The premise is fascinating but I found the story in itself quite depressing, all those years lost over a house – I’m not sure if I’m the only one who felt this way, it just seemed so sad and unnecessary.

I get distracted very easily and I’ve never been able to sit through an audiobook in its entirety… until now. What follows is an engaging, relatable, and heartfelt examination of what “reinventing yourself” really looks like: of how much of yourself it’s really possible to change, and what you both lose and gain when you do. I read this a year ago and some of the story still stick with me so profoundly; Our Women On The Ground is a collection of essays from female Arab journalists covering world events in the Middle East. In this book, the author discusses the importance of self-worth, finding and accepting oneself, second chances, finding a balance, and the importance of family and friends.

I’m not sure how to describe this book, although it broaches topics of privilege, heartbreak, race and motherhood, it also is quite an unlikely story in some ways. We are experiencing delays with deliveries to many countries, but in most cases local services have now resumed. How many times will a woman not use her good sense to figure a way out of said predicament but rather phone it in, again three times on average. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). This brilliant book follows the aftermath of a tragic event which affects the life of the young couple involved, as they try to continue on afterwards.

I actually read this on holiday in Morocco so I had set aside time to get through it, but I found it incredibly long and at times, hard to commit to. Whilst her personality is very different to mine, I found parts of her journey to be very relatable and realistic. Founded in 1863, Parisians bought it in sufficient numbers week after week to ensure its survival for over a century. This has Black Mirror-esque vibes, and a lot of the stories are so fascinating it made me wonder where the author’s ideas even came from!

Victor Arwas was one of the leading scholars and experts in the fine and decorative arts from the late nineteenth century onwards. She let everyone walk all over her, and yes, I say let because, from her inner dialogue, it’s clear that this is a conscious decision. On November 13, 2020, Netflix released The Life Ahead directed by Edoardo Ponti and starring Sophia Loren. A 32 year old woman who's a doormat to her family her dead father, and it goes further to her work and every one around her.

I really liked the art discussions and to hear about her touring the city of Paris and the other areas of France.
