About this deal

Grandma asks Yi-chan to be very mindful of his feelings and suggests that he should make sure he never breaks Chang-a’s heart. At the same time, Eun-gyeol drops Eun-yu (Se-kyeong) home. He tells her that she has no reason to think that her pain is not big enough. Knowing that Jae-kyung lives with Hong-jo, her colleagues force Hong-jo to invite them over to her house for a party. Meanwhile, Sin-yu’s father is upset that Hong-jo is not going to show up to meet them. Sin-yu tells his father that he is busy with work and has a lot on his mind. If you like horror, ghost stories, haunted houses, found footage, and mixed media style writing then this is sure to be a winner for you. 4 stars! The truth is, ghosts aren't easy to talk to. If it was easy, they'd tap you on the shoulder while you're making supper and ask you if you'd be willing to discuss their feelings about your house being built on their burial ground.

Eun-yu is elated after learning that Eun-gyeol has feelings for her and not her mother after all. The two spend the day together, playing games and doing more fun things. Meanwhile, Yi-chan and Ma-joo have an argument on the street when the former notices Chang-a pass by. He leaves Ma-joo alone as he answers a call and follows Chang-a to her art studio. Commander Waterford (Joseph Fiennes) and Serena Joy (Yvonne Strahovski). Photograph: George Kraychyk/Hulu A group of TV supernatural researchers, or ghost hunters, decide for their 13th episode to investigate Foundation House, where decades before, a group of medical researchers and patients disappeared without a trace. The book takes the form of a collection of found footage, journal entries, and other multimedia files produced by the ghost hunters. Suddenly, a house across the street is on fire (probably caused by an exploding woman) and chaos reigns. As guardians swarm the area and Joseph drives off with a terrified Emily, Rita comes to June and tells her she and the baby can go, but it must be now. Readers piece together everything that happens through a series of show notes, journal entries, interviews, and transcriptions.

Ritsuko tells Misato and the Eva pilots that the test they are carrying out with the simulation bodies will ultimately help them develop "a new autopilot system".

The episode is actually inconsistent is stating where exactly the "Sigma Unit" of NERV HQ, containing the infected Pribnow Box, is in relation to Central Dogma. Fuyutsuki says that it is fairly close to "Adam" (presumably Terminal Dogma, the lowest level of the base). However, we then see Kaji, standing on Level 28, looking up at the Angel infection several levels above him, while in the same scene a voice on the intercom says that "All of Central Dogma under Sigma Unit will be completely closed off in sixty seconds" (Central Dogma, specifically the command center containing the Magi, is located around Level 40, and the level numbers decrease as they go farther down, so that would mean the Angel was above Central Dogma). In the very next scene, another voice over the intercom says that all deep facilities were taken over by the Angel, again saying that the Sigma Unit is below Central Dogma. On the surface, Beau really isn't a complicated man. He lives a relatively quiet life, devoted to his daughter and job. And those traits were on full display here as the search for Emily and Denise ramped up. Acosta: These are the weeds. The eggs. The slaughter of the innocents isn’t killing 2-year-olds; it’s corrupting the eggs. Hong-jo refuses to go to his office and asks him to speak over the phone. After discussing work, Sin-yu tells Hong-jo that staying away is going to be a lot worse than staying together as it is hard for him to move on from her due to the love spell. Hong-jo acts as if she were unfazed by Sin-yu and ends the call.On the other hand, Sin-yu is drinking at a bar with Wook. He tells his friend that he misses Hong-jo. Wook tries his best to help Sin-yu with his problem but is not able to figure the whole thing out. The party is over and Jae-kyung helps Hong-jo clear up her house. But while I really enjoyed the audio production, I wouldn't say I ever really connected with the story overall. The production: the music is annoying and obtrusive. The fact that the truly cringe-worthy "original song" the foreword touts was used as the Audible sample is a hint, folks. Don't ignore it. (Lyrics which I really should not be preserving: "The groovy people are here" ... "Don't let the man get you down - turn that sad frown upside down" ... "open your heart and lend me your ears" ... Wow. Did Bob Dylan write this?) One thing that continually irked me was a departure from the way this sort of epistolary novel is handled: when a narrator is delivering a journal entry for his character, generally if the journal quotes another character the same narrator handles that dialogue also. Done well, this should provide different points of view on the cast of characters, as each was seen through the others' eyes, and it's a logical way to handle the sections. So: if I'm hearing an entry from Jessica's journal, and she quotes Claire, the same narrator should read all of it, maybe doing an impression of the narrator handling Claire's character, maybe not. It's supposed to be in Jessica's head, through Jessica's eyes and ears. Here, the narrator for Claire jumps in with that bit of dialogue, and it makes no sense to me. Acosta: Matthew 13: ‘The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat.’ Described in one blurb as House of Leaves meets Haunting of Hill House, you better believe Episode Thirteen caught my attention - I'm forever looking for the perfect haunted house story. But although I liked it, I thought it also fell prey to the all-too-common problems with the genre.
