About this deal

If you enjoyed BLON but disliked the fit, or just want a step up, then HBB Mele might be an excellent choice for you. If you’ve been eyeing the ER4’s but just can’t shell out the cash, the ER2XR is certainly a worthy compromise.

A very well-rounded budget IEM offering a balanced sound, great clarity, and a bit more bass for some extra fun. If anything else, Moondrop’s embodying the whole “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” philosophy to a T. I already knew the FR was identical, but there might have been some difference in detail since they use the same type of driver but to a different tolerance. I don’t really like the wobbly core, which makes it more difficult to get a good seal with the Etymotic IEM shape, which you usually just shove straight in. There are all sorts of aftermarket tips for the Etys, so it’s pretty easy to find something that balances comfort and isolation. The BA driver is significantly faster and there is a certain effortlessness in the 4XR model that makes everything sound sublime. I know the Final Audio Type E pack you get an adapter but I already have these tips from E3000 so I'd like just the adapter. I was looking for an IEM with a little sub boost but similar tuning to my Fearless S6 Pro and this really did it for me.

Disclaimer: The measurement results of the engineering quality measurement in this review represent only the pair of IEM that was measured for this review. area and above 10KHz seems to be lacking despite FR charts saying the ER2SE should be brighter than the ER4XR? Though if you’re looking for proper bass, the ER2 would run circles around the EVO in terms of realism and actual weight. If you’re in a more fun mood, you would pick the IE 40 Pro, which will also deliver great treble details with a wider soundstage. With a Moondrop House sound, new cable, and newly created tips, Kato takes the place as the new and current flagship of the Moondrop. The result is the need for higher SPL in the 2-5k region (lower treble) for compensating said resonance. IPX6 is, for example splashproof, while IPX7 device can be submerged in water, and is therefore safe for showering. These are a Korean Single Dynamic earphone that are tuned to be very neutral close to the Harman target response.
