There are always discussions about leaving a LiPo battery-powered device charging overnight and its potential consequences. However, some batteries come with more safety mechanisms than others. The option of digital zoom, provided on the Mini 2, shouldn’t really be a deciding factor. It’s odd that it wasn’t an option on the earlier Mini, since it is only a digital zoom which will be of limited use to optical purists, but it feels better to have than not to. If you’re planning on undertaking roof surveys, for example, the Mini 2’s option of digital zoom might well be a worthwhile distinction as you can get in tight on any suspicious areas. But the fact of the matter is that lithium batteries can catch fire when they’re overcharged. So you should definitely not make it a habit to charge your Mini 2 battery overnight. To do this, just take your battery off the drone and leave it on your table overnight. The capacitors will drain and the drone will be empty of any residue charge. If that is the case, take your battery inside a warm room and keep it there till the temperature recovers and try again.You can then connect your charger to your Mini 2, and its battery will start charging through it.
